Breeding Season is coming!
View our STUD page and make your selection!
Dont miss your chance to breed to WA's most successful QH/ASH stallion, Spin on Command. And... as possibly the best cow-sport bred stallion in WA, Duck N Lethal offers mare owners an opportunity to acquire proven breeding at an afforable price!
Well Done to Tiffany M on her
recent success with her Buckskin mare Makara Cinamon Lass (PTIF to Spin
on Command). The old girl (the mare of course) won the WABA High Point Mare/Filly Award for 07/08.
Congratulations to Donna B
on the recent purchase of Hillbilly Quixote. This
very quiet, well bred mare is in foal to Spin on Command and both her
and her foal will have lots of fun with their new family. We look
forward to seeing you out and about soon. Visit the Sale page.
Yes its true. The race horse
owned by both Ross and Wendy L. "What a Journey" didnt perform well at
Belmont last week. She is nominated to start at Northam this Thursday.
Here's hoping this race is better!
Out and about
Ross has just returned from a 10 day trip to Toowoomba, QLD where he spent some time with good friend and top NCHA Non-Pro, John Brekelmans. Seeking a 'tune-up' in training his horses, Ross certainly received that and more! It is hoped the new techniques he has acquired will benefit him and his horses during the North-West round of drafts.Construction continues on new Facilities. With foaling and breeding
season here, the rush is on to have everything ready in time.
Farrier News
The recent warm weather is making the grass greener and the ponies lamer! Ross has seen alot of laminitic and founder ponies lately, as well as seedy toe cases.A donkey was treated last week that had seedy toe in all four feet, almost to the coronary band in each! It is expected to recover but is a reminder to monitor your horses/donkeys/ponies feet.
Those people hoping to compete at the Perth Royal show are advised to book in your horses shoeings early. The two weeks leading up to the Royal are filling fast already!
Unfortunately, we have had to increase our prices due to rising
steel and transport costs. We have (where possible) absorbed the extra
costs for the past 6 months but have to pass them on now.
