An awesome mare in her time,she was also the 1977 NCHA Maturity Champion at Shepparton in Victoria. In the 1977/78 season, Merit was the NCHA High Point Novice Horse of the Year, High Point Mare in the NCHA and the AQHA, and High Point Novice Cutting Horse on the Southern Circuit. In 1979, Merit won the Open Cutting at the NCHA Finals at Goondiwindi, beating Chilla Seeney and Mr Jessie James, and the Open Cutting at Murwillumbah, placing her at number seven in the NCHA’s Top Ten Money Earners for 1978-79. She gained her NCHA Champion, Annual Certificate of Achievement, Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Ability.
